Robotic Surgery

Robotic surgery is the use of robots in performing surgery. Three major advances aided by surgical robots have been remote surgery, minimally invasive surgery and unmanned surgery. Some major advantages of robotic surgery are precision, miniaturization, smaller incisions, decreased blood loss, less pain, and quicker healing time. Further advantages are articulation beyond normal manipulation and three-dimensional magnification, resulting in improved ergonomics.

Remote Presence

Remote Presence (RP) is the ability to project yourself to another location (without leaving your current location) and to move, see, hear and talk as though you were actually there. Wherever access to medical expertise is limited, RP can effectively extend the physician’s reach to manage patient care, thereby removing time and distance barriers.

RP technology solutions can be applied across the entire continuum of healthcare – from primary care to outpatient care, retail clinics to Emergency Management Services (EMS), acute care, rehabilitation and long term care – all delivered through one single backbone of branded SureConnect™ connectivity services and support.

RP-7 and RP-7i Robots

InTouch Health’s family of RP-7 Robots are wireless, mobile, Remote Presence robots that allow you to be in “two places at once.” Under the direct control of a remote physician seated at a ControlStation, the Robot can move untethered allowing the physician to freely interact with patients, family members and hospital staff from anywhere, anytime. The RP-7 and RP-7i™ Robots are the only FDA-cleared Remote Presence technology that uniquely enable our customers to connect to FDA-cleared medical devices such as electronic stethoscopes, otoscopes, ECG machines, ultrasound, etc.

RP-Lite

The all-new RP-Lite™ offers flexibility for physicians to extend their expertise into a broad array of locations ranging from clinics, emergency rooms, rural hospitals, long-term care communities and more.

ControlStations

The remote physician controls RP-7 and interacts within the healthcare facility via the use of a specialized computer called a ControlStation.

The ControlStation and RP-7 Robot are linked via a secure combination of broadband, the Internet and wireless technology.

SureConnect

SureConnect™ is the backbone infrastructure providing the reliable link between RP Products and ControlStations. The all-inclusive plan includes service, support, license fees and software enhancements and is an essential component of Remote Presence.

RP Implementation Services

InTouch Health employs a team of field and corporate based engineers, clinicians and account managers to provide initial implementation services and training as well as on-going account support. The implementation team delivers significant expertise to the customer in the areas of network planning and development, physician engagement strategies, clinical process development, regulatory compliance, and telemedicine reimbursement.
